Elgato Game Capture HD PlayStation 3/Xbox 360 Recorder for Mac and PC up to 1080P (10025010)
This thing is AMAZING guys! It is really worth the money trust me. I use it to record my gameplay to make montages. It auto records in the FPS's needed to be edited in. All you have to do is go to [...] then plug it into your comp. to download the software then it is ready to be pluged in and used! Im not a big geek with this kind of stuff and I figured it out so im sure you can! I would recommend this!!! WORTH THE MONEY!
I wish I could rate it 4 1/2 stars, since I don't think it's "perfect" as of yet. The latest version of the software allows for live commentary to be recorded along with your gameplay, however that is where the 1/2 star comes off from. It's great that I can record my live commentary along with the game sounds in one program, however I wish they would make it so that game and commentary audio are recorded on different tracks. If you try to edit the video in a different video editor, sony vegas for example, it'll show a video track and an audio track that contains both game and commentary.
Now they do have it so you can adjust the game and mic volume separately, but you don't really know if there is a universal setting that will always have the mic volume greater than the game at the end. Not only that my microphone manages to pick up a fair amount of background noise, which I usually like to edit out, I can't really do so when the game audio is merged in. If it could be made so that the game and commentary were recorded on different tracks, this would definitely get 6/5 stars, and that's not a typo, I did mean to type 6.
This product is by far the most amazing capture card ever made in my opinion. It is so easy to get started, record, and finalize a clip before saving it into a file. No hassles or inconveniences, just 100% perfect. Works great with Mac and I know it works with PC as well. Records beautiful 1080p HD on my Xbox360 and the program for it is so simple and user friendly, this is truly a gift to the gaming community. I use this to record games from my xbox 360 to my Macbook Air. Everything works perfect, and recent software updates have made it even better.
Quality is fantastic and the ability to buffer and only record what you want is very nice. It's extremely easy to use and just works without spending a lot of time on it.

Great things about the Elgato Game Capture HD:
1. USB powered, no external power source/adapter required.
2. Plug and play, just needed to adjust the settings of my PS3 Video Output and I was good to go.
3. The capture software that comes with the device is nice and has a Rewind option.
4. Size - this thing is about the size of a Western Digital USB powered external drive, perfect for portability.
I have recently wanted to create some gameplay video commentaries. Originally, I bought the AVerMedia C281 Game Capture HD Record device that I purchased a couple of weeks back. I had issues with AVerMedia's device, as while their setup was easy, their product would just not work for me. I decided to return it a week later because it seemed like the product was a defect.
That aside however, when I got this product in the mail and tried it today, I fell in love with it. Its setup is MUCH easier than AVerMedia's C281 model, and there are less cables going around everywhere. In addition, it seems like both the video quality AND the sound quality is very crisp. I just recently uploaded a sample video to Youtube through the software's share/upload feature as well, which seems like uploading videos can be a breeze.
The only downside is the price, but it is DEFINITELY worth it. If you want quality gameplay videos for whatever reason, your best bet is to get the Elgato Game Capture device.
